The 2006 FERRAN SUNYER I BALAGUER PRIZE

Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer (1912-1967) was a self-taught Catalan mathematician who, in spite of a serious

physical disability, was very active in research in classical Mathematical Analysis, an area in which he

acquired international recognition. Each year in honour of the memory of Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer, the

Fundació Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer awards an international  mathematical research prize bearing

his name, open to all mathematicians. This prize was awarded for the first time in April 1993.
