The Geometric Langlands Correspondence III

Presentation

This will be the fifth of a series of meetings, in the style of working groups, on the geometric Langlands correspondence. The aim is to study the relation with mirror symmetry and gauge theory established in the recent work of Witten with Kapustin and Gukov.

The four talks in this meeting will be devoted to the arithmetic Langlands correspondence. The interest of this subject in the context of our working group stems from the fact that the arithmetic Langlands correspondence was the departure point of a series of analogies (passing through the version of Langlands correspondence for function fields) which led Beilinson and Drinfeld to conjecture the geometric Langlands correspondence.
